Oh Lola.

I used to be great at painting my own nails. A combination of lots of practice and great products. Then 18 months ago I discovered CND Shellac and it all went out the window!

I knew once I got to Bangkok it would take me a while to find good places to go for my usual beauty things like nails and brows so I did come prepared with a few of my old favourites.

For Christmas, Dave took himself to Sephora (yes, I was massively impressed as well) and bought me a Marc Jacobs make up set and the Lola nail polish…well done new husband!

Today, teamed with an OPI base and top coat, I painted my nails. It will take me a while to get back to my old salon standard but for only my second self polish in a year and a half, it wasn’t too bad a job!

Quite often I find the expensive brand nail polish just isn’t great, Chanel a prime example, gorgeous colours and packaging but always disappointing formula. Marc Jacobs polish however ticks all the boxes. The colour of Lola is a glossy, rich, tomatoey red; I was in a hurry and thankfully one coat more than sufficed. The brush is nice and allows two strokes to cover the nail. The bottle feels heavy and luxurious and lets face it the packaging is just gorgeous.

This is my second bottle of MJ polish (the gorgeous greige Delphine being my first) and will definitely not be my last.
