There are a few things that I have been enjoying/thankful for today:
Air-conditioning – I appreciate its cold to people who have been here for longer but to the rest of us un-acclimatised peeps it’s 30 degrees (I’m sure next year I’ll be donning a cardigan like the rest of them and proclaiming winters arrived).
Insect bite balm – in Koh Samui the lil blighters loved me. Here in Bangkok, I’ve been luckier. Until last night, when sat on the edge of the netball court nursing a tender groin (no jokes please), I became dinner for a pesky mosquito. Today, this balm and an anti-histamine have been my saviour.
Pocari Sweat – an electrolyte beverage discovered in Japan in the summer of 2004, I was pretty chuffed to find it in some shops here. Always a great way to re-hydrate after exercise or in my case excessive sunbathing.
I know, it’s a hard life.
