My parents last day in Bangkok had come around way too quick and we were determined to make the most of it so we took the boat down the Chaophraya to Wat Pho and Wat Arun. As I’ve mentioned before Wat Arun is undergoing some serious restoration and is covered in scaffolding so we walked around the complex but didn’t pay to go in as you couldn’t actually climb up the central prang. We thought we would do it properly the next time they visit.
My mum was interviewed by some university students who insisted on a picture!
A refreshing coconut on the way to Wat Pho
Next stop was Wat Pho, my favourite temple. It actually wasn’t too busy so we explored the complex, first taking in the reclining buddha who definitely has the most beautiful feet in Bangkok!
As we were leaving Wat Pho a school of very young monks passed us.
We stopped off in Asok at Pala Pizza for a bite to eat before heading to the pool for a few hours.
For our last evening together we headed to Cabbages and Condoms for some Thai food and a dessert of deep fried ice-cream!
If you missed yesterdays post all about the hottest day in Bangok for 55 years, read it here!
Feels like our holiday is coming to a close for the second time. How sad.
