Since moving to Thailand my makeup regime has become much quicker. My reasons being that it’s so hot it runs off plus when I have a tan I never think I need as much! I am someone who very much enjoys doing my makeup and can happily spend an hour blending and buffing but now my daily routine is a swift 5 minutes and consists of concealer (if I look like I need it/can be bothered), bronzer, blush, a tiny bit of eyeliner blended out and finished with mascara. Done.
My favourite mascara is definitely Eyeko’s Black Magic; popping into Sephora this evening to repurchase before my current one has run out confirmed this for me! It adds lashings of volume without clumping or blobbing on the lashes and is such a smooth consistency it looks really natural. It comes in a squeezy tube so you can get all that mascara-y goodness out – I just love it! This is one of the few makeup products I have found to be cheaper here in Thailand, it’s approximately £4 cheaper than the UK where it retails around £18.
As I mentioned above, a major problem for makeup loving gals here in Bangkok is the heat. No sooner have you put your slap on, you venture out the door and its melting! I have found using a good primer on nights out helps but I needed something more… On my wedding day my lovely makeup artist Rachel used the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray to keep my face in place for the entire day and night so when I saw a half size version in Sephora I knew I should give it a go to solve my melting issues! I have high expectations based on my previous experience and the many great reviews I have read online. We’re off to Phuket today for the long weekend so I thought it would be the ideal time to give it a good test – I’ll let you know what I think!
Happy Friday everyone!
