Crazy Weeks…

So sorry for my prolonged absence from the bloggersphere…I am back! The last few weeks just got very crazy as the first school year drew to an end and we moved flats; I did have every intention to blog but I just had very little time to actually do it!

So as I mentioned we have indeed moved and are loving being in town, Phra Kanong to be exact. The move itself went ridiculously smoothly; we packed up (I hate any sort of packing so this bit was tres painful), then some lovely men came and moved our worldly possessions into town and into our new flat…for the princely some of £40! I can’t live in mess so we immediately unpacked and the flat feels like home already, I will do a Tour of the Flat post soon! The header on this post is the view from our balcony looking up Sukhumvit.

As well as moving flats we were careering headlong towards the end of the school term, the end of Dave’s first year teaching in Bangkok. In an international school this means lots of people, colleagues and friends, are moving on to pastures and countries new, meaning numerous leaving parties/dinners as well as team end of term shindigs and epic, lengthy assemblies! It has all been quite emotional as we say goodbye to people who have been integral to our first year here, helped us settle in, looked out for us and just really been part of our lives. Old hands who have been here for years have told me that even after many years these goodbyes never get easier.

FullSizeRender 6Anyway, school finished yesterday (too emosh) so we are going to try and finalise our summer plans which we still haven’t done as well as chill out in Bangkok for a while and enjoy our new home! I’ll be back on the ball now and take you all along with us.

    1. Thanks Amy, it went better than I expected and I’m loving the new flat!…although the proximity to town and especially the new EmQuartier is dangerous….! x
