Sunday in Singapore was a fabulous day…I got to see my cousin who I hadn’t seen in over 6 months! After checking into our hotel we got changed and headed straight out, we met up at Boat Quay for a glass of vino then moved onto Marina Bay Sands for a few drinks at the 57th floor sky bar whilst watching the sun set over the city.
Opened in 2011, Marina Bay Sands is a resort that encompasses a casino, a 2,561-room hotel, a convention-exhibition centre, a luxurious 800,000 sq. ft shopping mall (which has a mini river), a museum, two theatres, seven ‘celebrity chef’ restaurants and an ice-skating rink. To top it off is a 340m long ‘SkyPark’ featuring a bar, restaurants and an infinity pool, all set on top of the world’s largest cantilevered platform, which overhangs the north tower by 67m – seriously impressive!
After a few rounds hunger kicked in so we grabbed a taxi over to Arab Street for some Indian food. We went to a restaurant my cousin and her fiancé had discovered a few weeks before called Punjaby. We shared some sizzling tandoori dishes, a yummy vegetarian platter and some curries. The food was seriously good and soon we were pretty stuffed!
We had a great night catching up enjoying good food and drinks; it’s funny how much more you appreciate spending time with family and friends when you don’t see them as often, although I am hoping with my cousin now in Singapore meeting up will be more frequent!!
