This is my last Singapore related post *sob*, I have really enjoyed blogging about our days there and quite frankly am looking forward to going back! One of the things we liked most about the city (aside from the ridiculously perfect pavements and that baked brie) was the river winding its way through and the abundance of places to sit and enjoy a cold glass of wine whilst admiring the view…I know if we lived there we’d soon be bankrupt from one too many Sauvignon Blancs next to the water.
Anyway I digress, we had been over to Gardens by the Bay and had cut through Marina Bay Sands to the water and decided to hop on a river cruise, well why not! It was $24 each and took around 45 minutes, you could hop on and off if you wanted but we decided to just stay on and do the whole trip. The boat, a traditional ‘bumboat’, was pretty quiet with only 9 other people so it was pretty civilised compared to the Bangkok riverboats! Starting at Marina Bay Sands, the cruise passed the Singapore Merlion, the Esplanade Theatres, Boat Quay, The Fullerton Hotel and Clarke Quay, pointing out key sights and landmarks as we went. It really was interesting and was nice to see everything from a different perspective on the boat.
