I did have a list of things to pick up when I was back in the UK but of course, I also bought a few things that took my fancy when I was perusing the shelves of Boots and duty-free! Here’s a bit of a rundown of what I brought back with me.
I tried a sample of this a while back and loved it so when I saw it in duty-free I had to have it (usual RRP £28). With an SPF of 30, it’s ideal for everyday use (for sunbathing or prolonged exposure to the sun always use a facial sunscreen of factor 30 or above) and the whole colour correcting thing makes your skin look beautiful. I use the tiniest amount buffed into my T-zone with a Real Techniques Expert Face brush.
My sister bought me a set of Chloe mini’s for Christmas last year and to be honest I liked them all so I picked up the lovely Love Story by Chloe in duty-free. Love Story has a top note of neroli, stephanotis and orange blossom at its heart with base notes of wood and musk. As luck would have it, with every purchase of a Chloe 75ml fragrance you received a 75ml of the gorgeous Limited Edition Si Belle…win-win! Si Belle has top notes of neroli, birch leaf, a heart of gardenia and orange blossom with a base of white musk. I love them both!
CND Shellac in Tinted Love
A huge thanks to Beca and Jacky at Serene Beauty in Lutterworth for getting me a bottle of my favourite Shellac colour ever! Tinted Love is a deep red that was actually my wedding nail colour and a colour I haven’t been able to find out here in Bangkok! I can’t wait to take it to my local salon here in Bangkok and get it on my nails!
This was on my restock list; I’ve nearly used my current bottle so I picked up a new one in Marks & Spencer where it is conveniently now stocked (well done Pixi, long gone are the days of a trip to Carnaby Street!). I am a huge fan of this product (another Caroline Hirons recommendation); a quick swipe on a cotton pad a few times a week helps tone, firm and tighten your skin. The gentle glycolic acid removes dead skin cells leaving you with healthier looking skin.
Batiste Dry Shampoo in Bloom
This was a total spur of the moment pick up. I liked the bottle and hadn’t got any dry shampoo for my time at home so I grabbed this. It smells lovely and does a great job building body and refreshing day old hair.
A few weeks before I returned home (and before I discover Living Proof in Sephora) Feel Unique UK had a 30% offer code, then an extra 10% off on top so I placed an order for shampoo, conditioner and their gorgeous serum to be delivered to my parent’s house ready for me. I did have a bit of a delivery issue which I have to say Feel Unique sorted out very quickly and efficiently, kudos for the great customer service.
I ordered the Bain Satin 2 shampoo which provides “exceptional nutrition for dry, sensitized hair”, the Fondant Nutri-thermique conditioner for “lightweight nourishment and moisture for dry, sensitised hair” and finally the Elixir Ultime Oil that provides “ultimate shine, softness and nourishment for all hair types“.
Whilst I was wandering the aisles of Boots I saw this Limited Edition Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish in Jasmine and Osmanthus. I used to use this cleanser daily but over the past year, I prefer to use it more like a face mask when my skin is feeling sensitive or I have a breakout. I love the smell of Jasmine so this naturally made its way into my basket! It’s a super-sized 150ml too so it will last even longer than usual!
So there are a few of the bits I bought whilst I was back in the UK. I also picked up some products from the new H&M makeup range and a couple of things from the stunning Charlotte Tilbury which will be up on Travels of a Beauty Addict soon.
