Weekend Pickups

I went shopping last weekend with the intention of ticking off some bits from my Christmas present shopping list…that would be the list of gifts for other people not for myself. Well, my shop wasn’t overly successful, I bought one present for someone and accidentally, a whole host of goodies for myself. Oops.

Some of my acquisitions were restocks so I don’t feel too bad…here’s the rundown of my pickups!

Benefit Roller Lash  ฿950

I went to Sephora to pick up my usual Eyeko Black Magic mascara but after visiting three stores and having a mini break down I came to my senses and saw it as a great opportunity to pick up the Roller Lash mascara from Benefit that I have been reading so much about from every beauty blogger out there! I need to use it for a while before giving a definitive verdict…

Muji Compact Mirror  ฿295

I have been caught out too many times now in hotel rooms where the mirror is in the worst place in the room for actually doing your face! So I picked up this medium sized aluminium travel mirror whilst in Muji so I can find the best light wherever I am.

Muji Oil Cleanser  ฿295

Restock: According to my Instagram it’s 21 weeks since I posted about this fantastic cleansing oil from Muji if you missed to post, read it here. I don’t think that’s too bad considering this is my go to morning and evening cleanse. And for the price, this is such a great product. If you like a cleansing oil, try and get your hands on this one!

MAC Twig Lipstick  ฿850

I went into MAC looking for Amorous which they didn’t have but Twig caught my eye so I went for this instead. This is a lovely soft pinkish brown colour with a satin formulation so feels great on the lips and lasts a good few hours before you need to reapply. I have been experimenting with bolder lip colours recently and wanted an everyday lipstick that has a bit more colour than my usual go-to MAC lippy Patisserie and this one really fit the bill.

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler  ฿702

Restock: I often get asked if my eyelashes are real. They are, I am terrible at sticking falsies on myself, however many YouTube tutorials I watch! I really do attribute my lush lashes to a great mascara and these bad boys. Once you’ve tried these you will never use any others, I have bought these as presents for so many friends who have subsequently succumbed to the Shu Uemura phenomenon. In the UK these usually cost £20, I was more than delighted to pay just over £14 here in Thailand!

Rip Curl Cheetah Bikini  ฿1672

I haven’t found buying swimwear here in Thailand particularly easy, mainly due to the fact I’m not a size 8 but also it doesn’t seem to be available all year round despite the glorious weather! There was a sale on in Central department store and I saw this Rip Curl beauty, with 30% off it had to be mine.

So there are my weekend pickups. This weekend we are off to Koh Samet as it is the long weekend so I will be taking most of the above with me! The bikini, in particular, should come in handy!

Have a great weekend whatever you’re up to! x

  2. I tried roller lash but wasn’t a fan of it on it’s own… I found that it’s great for thickening lashes after a base coat but it doesn’t keep the curl or length on my lashes when applied by itself… but everyone loves it! Lucky Benefit has me covered with their They’re Real mascara – i just can’t love it more! xo

    1. I know exactly what you mean! So far (after over a week of trying) I just don’t really like it that much. Compared to my usual Eyeko it just a ain’t all that! X
