So despite my best intentions, my suitcase came back from the UK last month was heavier than it went. Thank god for BA excess baggage allowance. Naughty me. So here is a few of the things I bought and also received for Christmas…
I love the RT brushes so when I was needing a new blush brush I opted for this one. Their soft, wash beautifully and are great value too. A limited range of these fab brushes are available at Boots in Thailand.
I tried at a few counters both in Thailand and the UK to get my mitts on this gloss, it’s actually a really old one that Nars have brought back. Its a beautiful natural pinky peach colour. I haven’t used a lip gloss in years but something really drew me to this one and I’m so glad I bought it. It makes my lips look fuller and wears beautifully by itself or over a slick of lippie.
Co Lab Luxe Shine Spray £4.99
This is A Model Recommends collaboration with Co Lab and I was keen to try one of the products. I find it hard to make my blonde hair look shiny so any help I can get is welcomed. I haven’t tried it enough to give a proper verdict but it smells lovely and doesn’t seem to make my hair greasy.
Glam Life Guru has been raving about this drug store concelaer so when I was wandering the aisles of Superdrug of course it found its way into my basket. I picked up light as Tati uses it as a highlight and I actually really like it. Im not sure how hygienic the sponge top is as I can’t seem to remove it to wash which is a pain but other than that a great product. I wouldn’t use it for blemishes but for under eye and highlighting its great.
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer £4.19 ~ Restock
I have been using this concealer for years. It is fantastic. Great coverage on blemishes and when powdered it lasts really well. I have colours 2, 3 and 4 to cover all year round.
Pixi Overnight Glow Serum £26.00
I am a huge fan of Pixi Glow Tonic which I have talked about previously so when I saw this serum in Marks & Spencers I knew I had to try it. I LOVE this stuff. It honestly does everything it says on the tin…
An innovative, exfoliating treatment, Pixi’s Overnight Glow Serum is a silky, glycolic-rich (10%) formula which transforms your skin as you slumber. A revitalising ‘peel’, this gently dissolves the bonds that bind dulling, dead cells to skin’s surface – revealing the healthy ‘new’ skin cells beneath. It’s brilliantly brightening – lessening the visibility of dark spots and post-blemish redness – and also kick-starts sluggish cells; encouraging collagen synthesis to fortify skin’s fabric and maintain its youthful ‘stretch’ and elasticity. Enriched with calming cucumber and aloe vera, it’s also healing and hydrating – just apply a few drops before bed, and wake up to smooth, luminous skin.
My fabulous friend Hannah (Fat Girl to Fit Girl) bought me this amazing (sadly now out of stock) palette for Christmas. It has everything you need for a weekend away; mascara, black eyeliner, lip gloss, blush. bronzer and highlighter all in one gorgeous palette. I haven’t had the opportunity to take this away yet but I shall be doing soon although I have tried the 24 hour eye liner which I really like.
I was given this Label.m shampoo and conditioner duo for Christmas. I haven’t ever tried any of their products despite seeing them in the hairdressers plenty of times, to be honest I’m such a Kerestase girl I tend to stick to what I know so I am really looking forward to trying these. The treatment shampoo and moisturising conditioner formulated for dry, dehydrated hair are calling to my sun parched locks! The eye-catching packaging is taken from the GILES AW15 runway collection and the two products come with the London Fashion Week seal of approval.
This Essentials palette from Clarins was a Christmas present and it is beautiful. Containing a variety of warm neutral shades, matte and shimmer, this is the perfect everyday palette. The shadows blend nicely through the socket and the double ended brush in the set is really nice too.
I have been dying to try REN skincare so when I saw this box set half price in M&S I grabbed it! I have yet to try the two masks but I have been really liking the Daily Supplement Moisturising Cream and the Firm and Lift Eye Cream. The Hot Cloth Cleanser is ok but not as good as Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, it leaves my skin feeling a bit tacky even when scrubbed with a flannel. All in all a great set to try some skincare from REN.
So there you have it – my excess baggage from my Christmas/New Year trip home to the UK, I definitely need to invest in a bigger suitcase next time!
