The Slate in Phuket used to be called The Indigo Pearl and if you’ve been following this blog for a while you will know it’s one of our favourite resorts ever. I’m not going to reblog it all so if you’d like to read more click here and here.
We spent the recent long weekend at The Slate with our friends, arriving from Bangkok with Vietjet on Thursday, leaving on Sunday afternoon. As usual, we enjoyed the seriously beautiful design elements of the resort, the choice of three swimming pools including an over 16’s pool and the wide array of bars and restaurants, where we indulged in far too many happy hour cocktails…if that’s possible!
We have never had the opportunity to try the Coqoon Spa so this visit we took advantage of an offer for two hours of treatments for two people for 5,600 baht. On arrival at the beautiful spa, we chose our oils and scrubs and decided to upgrade for 15% to the Nest – literally a tree house! We both had the champaka body scrub which left my skin feeling like a babies, then I had a relaxing Chempaka oil massage whilst Dave had an invigorating massage with eucalyptus oil to relieve stress. Lastly, I enjoyed a milky bath whilst Dave had a pedicure. Following your treatment, you can head to the relaxation zone where there is a pool, chill-out area, a steam room and sauna which was lovely. Whilst price wise, for Thailand, the spa is more expensive, it is a unique, beautiful setting and the experience was worth every penny. Our therapists were extremely professional and fabulous at what they do, I honestly think it was the best massage I have ever had.
We did wonder if anything would have changed since the rebranding of the hotel but thankfully everything about this resort from the exceptional service and great cocktails, to the great food and fantastic smell throughout (yes, seriously), was still the same. The Slate remains one of our favourite places to spend some time and if getting to a resort and not leaving for a few days is your thing I cannot recommend this place enough.
