So, October was pretty hectic but it didn’t stop me finding some favourites! Here’s a roundup of my favourite products, places and even my favourite app of the month!
This is hands down, without a doubt the best suntan lotion I have ever used. It is so moisturising, smells incredible, doesn’t leave you feeling at all greasy and best of all protects your skin against the sun like an absolute suit of armour. Sadly we can’t get it in Thailand but a friend who recently visited from Australia hooked me up with a few more bottles. If anyone’s heading that way be sure to grab me a few more!!
We travelled quite a bit in October (Cambodia, Koh Yao Yai and Phuket) and one of my favourite travel things has to be minis. Yes, sometimes they are more expensive than buying the full size but I love the fact they don’t take up half my luggage or weigh a tonne. I also like trying new things in mini size before committing to the full size! From moisturiser to perfumes, anything I can pack that is mini, I do! Recent favourite minis are the Alterna Anti-Aging Caviar Shampoo and Conditioner which leave my hair feeling soft, silky and super healthy.
My recent week in Phuket consisted of laying on a sun lounger reading a ridiculous amount of books on my kindle. I always need a little extra help slaying off the dry skin when I’ve been baking in the sun so turned to one of my old faves. The Sugar Crush scent from Soap & Glory is one of my favourites, zingy and fresh, and this body scrub is super effective and a great price (around £8 for 300ml). It combines brown sugar and sea salt with sweet lime oil to leave your skin super soft, refreshed and smelling great. When I need an intense result I like to rub it into dry skin and then hop in the shower to buff it away.
My husband is obsessed with smells; not bad smells or being overly sensitive to smells but gorgeous smells that make everything in our home smell nice. He loves a good diffuser or candle, his favourite place to pick up home fragrance is Zara Home. When we were in there buying a diffuser for our living room, I spied this Sicilian Fig Room Spray. As we had visitors coming for the next few months coupled with my obsession for anything fig scented I grabbed a bottle, and it seriously is fabulous. A couple of sprays lingers in the room for hours and it also settles onto linens and towels making everything smell delicious. I don’t think I can be without a bottle of this bad boy now!
I couldn’t do October favourites and not include this, it’s got to be the product I have reached for the most since I purchased it. I use it every single day whether I’m going for a natural look or a full face – I absolutely love it. I love the consistency, the finish, the wear, it was worth every single penny and is going to last for years even with daily use, a little goes a long way!! For my full review, click here.
The full Siem Reap/Angkor Wat post is still a work in progress* but it has to go into my October favourites, what an epic place. We spent a long weekend in Cambodia and it was a wonderful experience to share with my parents and some friends as we explored the vast temple complex that is Angkor Wat. If it’s not on your travel bucket list, add it now!

This is an app I have been using for about two years and one that I frequently recommend to friends and family but oddly haven’t ever written about on here. It is a card sending app that I use mainly to send personalised postcards of our adventures to my elderly grandparents. You buy credits and then create your postcards using pictures on your device, you can even add a picture as your stamp. When I was home in the summer my Grandad who is now in his 90s, showed me all the postcards I have sent him over the past two years and told me how much he looks forward to receiving them, he loves that I am in the pictures. Last year, I sent all of our Christmas cards on the Touchnote app too and will be doing the same this year!
Hope your October was great, I have a few things planned in November which I’m excited about plus some friends visiting us in Bangkok which always makes me happy!
